Chapter 1. Introduction
One of great successes of twentieth century physics is the standard model of electroweak and strong interactions. Its predictions
have been verified with fair accuracy in all the high energy physical
laboratories over recent thirty years. Its ideas now become the fundamental principles of particle physics. It is therefore appropriate
to give a review of the standard model involving electroweak theory
and quantum chromodynamics.
